UAE President Cup Purebred Arabian Grand Prix kicks off December 15

ABU DHABI, 28th November, 2024 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Turf Club (ADTC) is set to host the 32nd edition of the UAE President Cup Purebred Arabian Grand Prix on 15th December 2024.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and President of the ADTC, the event boasts a prize pool of AED10.8 million.

The event will feature seven races, including the prestigious UAE President Cup, Purebred Arabians Grand Prix (Group 1), with a prize pool of AED8 million-setting the stage for fierce competition between the world's elite purebred Arabian horses, racing over 2,200 metres. The President Cup for Thoroughbreds additionally offers a grand prize of AED1 million.

This year's edition will witness a significant increase in the prize pool by AED5.2 million, bringing the total prize value to AED10.8 million. The reception with barrier draw for the UAE President Cup Purebred Arabian Grand Prix will take place on 13th December.

Faisal Al Rahmani, President of the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing (IFAHR) and Secretary-General of the UAE President's Cup Series High Committee, said that ADTC has become a hub for hosting top-tier international races for Arabian horses, thanks to its exceptional facilities and infrastructure, and its world-class track, which is considered a masterpiece among global racecourses.

Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, General Manager and Board Member of the Emirates Racing Authority and Vice-Chair of the Asian Racing Federation, highlighted the UAE President's Cup's significance in advancing Arabian horse racing. He credited His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's unwavering support and visionary leadership for elevating the event's status, making it a key fixture on the global equestrian calendar.
